To inspire hope and promote healing for the homeless of Katy, TX through intentional acts of love, cultivation of community, and networking of area resources.
Our values are core to who we are. Our belief is that the root causes of homelessness is the absence of these values:
FAITH — We trust in God with all our hearts and believe that He is the Lord of all, that He is in control of all things. We look to Him for guidance in all we do.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and He will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
HOPE — We believe that God always knows what is best and that He has a plan for each one of us. We know that He is with us no matter what our circumstance and that we can count on Him always!
“I know the plans I have for you — plans to prosper you and not to harm you; to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
LOVE — We believe that the meaning of life is found in God’s unconditional love known in Jesus Christ. Jesus calls us to love our neighbor with that same kind of unconditional love, which includes loving the homeless, hopeless, and under-resourced.
“By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” (1 John 3:16-18)
SERVICE — Jesus set the ultimate example of service when He gave His life so that others may be saved. We believe that Jesus calls us into a lifestyle of love and service to one another, and especially, to the weak and powerless.
“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'” (Matthew 25:37-40)
INTEGRITY — We believe that being honest, transparent, and ethical is the only way to be.
“Finally, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is holy, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Philippians 4:8)
COMMUNITY — We know our organization does not exist in a vacuum. We actively partner with other area nonprofit agencies, organizations, churches, and businesses that complement our efforts to end homelessness in Katy, TX.
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24-25)
